Warm spring walks along the beach at Conwy, North Wales, inspired this image. The sturdy wood posts, weathered by sun and sea, stand proud, reaching up towards Conwy Mountain. Cool grasses wave calmly in the gentle breeze. The posts remind me of the courageous history of the nearby Conwy Marina and the Mulberry Harbours built during WW2. The original is a 20cm x 12cm textile piece, and rather than showing one particular view, the spirit of Conwy Beach and the beautiful seaside is captured, giving a ‘sense of place”.
